2024 IATBR Lifetime Achievement Award
Call for Nominations: Due September 15, 2023
The International Association for Travel Behaviour Research (IATBR) invites submissions for the 2024 IATBR Lifetime Achievement Award. This award is given by IATBR to an individual who has made fundamental and sustained contributions to travel behavior research over her or his professional career (typically at least 25 years), is widely known (at least among the IATBR community), and has influenced the field through her or his writings, teaching, service, and nurturing of younger professionals.
The nominator must provide a nomination letter explaining why the nominee is worthy of this award, and include a current resume. In their letters, nominators are instructed to address key aspects of the nominee’s research contributions and their impact, major contributions to professional activities including but not limited to organization of conferences, workshops, educational initiatives, research centers, and so forth. The nominators should also describe the nominee’s teaching and training successes as well as evidence of innovation and support for the younger professionals. Finally, a description of the nominee’s service to the profession, institutions, and the community is also a mandatory section of the nomination letter. The letter should aim at a concise and complete description of the nominee’s career wide record and its impact on travel behaviour research.
Nominations are solicited from the membership. Self-nominations are not accepted. Nominations should be made confidentially to the Chair of the 2024 Award Committee, Professor Prof. Chandra Bhat ([email protected] no later than September 15, 2023.
